Hampton Photo Arts today unveiled its new online photo store, www.HamptonPhotoArts.com. Customers visiting the website will be able to order prints and sell photos, archive images and join a unique membership program for special offers and savings. “Customers now have 24-7 access to the same products and services that we have in our Bridgehampton store through this new user-friendly website,” said David McHugh/President. “Having an online presence not only offers added convenience and accessibility for our customers, it allows us to offer them additional services, as well; services such as image archiving. Now customers can store their precious memories with a local store they know and trust.”  David McHugh explained the website features, “My Page” – a headquarters for all of the user's photo collections and jumping-off points for uploading pictures, starting projects and shopping. Additionally, the “Collections” feature offers users a way to move and combine pictures under a single heading, helping them to focus on the event or subject, rather than on the date range the photos were taken before they cleared their camera card. “Smart Collections” take this organic type of organization even further, automatically grouping images according to keyword, date, rating, etc. Customers can also edit and organize photos and share albums or their My Page with friends and family.“The store may be virtual, but online customers will experience the same trademark service and expertise of our brick and mortar store in Bridgehampton. Watercolor is an easy, fun medium for creating art. Color theory, composition and design can be explored freely with watercolor paint, paper, and brushes. Several techniques may be used with watercolors for varying effects including painting wet on wet, wet on dry, layering washes, and more. Watercolor paper comes in cold press, hot press, and rough. Rough paper has the most texture, and its hills and valleys can result in interesting effects when paint is added. Hot press is the smoothest and has the finest texture. Cold press has a moderate amount of texture and is the paper most commonly chosen by watercolor artists. Watercolor paper comes in several weights ranging from 90 lb. to 300 lb. based on the pounds per ream of paper. Most artists prefer to use at least 140 lb. paper. Papers vary somewhat between manufacturers, so sampling different papers is advisable. Paper can be purchased in pads, in blocks or in large sheets. The large sheets are usually the most economical and can be torn into whatever size is desired. |
