Hampton Photo Arts Photo Albums: A Truly Eclectic Range

Photo AlbumsHampton Photo Arts appreciate that professional and amateur photographers alike are not always satisfied with a simple folder of snapshots. Understandably, they want to immortalize their precious memories in a more fashionable and aesthetically pleasing way. Photo albums have always been a traditional staple of a family household, yet one need not always opt for a solemn leather tome – in fact, the range of photo albums available at Hampton Photo Arts is a very broad one indeed. Those seeking a photo album which surpasses the competition in terms of style and durability need look no further than those available at Hampton Photo Arts in Bridgehampton.

A  Hampton Photo Arts favorite is the cloth frame photo album. This product is perfect for those seeking an album which boasts broad, vibrant colors and a smooth finish. As they are light and compact, our cloth frame photo albums can hold up to two 4’’ by 6’’ photographs per page. Alternatively, for a bolder and more striking look, the albums can display vertical photographs, thus creating a more exhibitionist feel. These cloth frame albums might look a little on the small side, but don’t be deceived by their compact size; the albums can hold up to two hundred photos when placed horizontally, including a small area for memos next to each pocket. This is a perfect opportunity for useful captions and snippets of information to enhance the meaning of each photo. Finally, the album is completely acid-free and, unlike some photo albums on the market, poses no danger to the quality of your precious photographs whatsoever.

Oxford brass corner photo albumsFor a less casual and more elegant look, the equally striking Oxford brass corner albums are also a possibility. With a slightly larger capacity than the cloth frame albums of two hundred and eight photos, the Oxford brass corner is ideal for those seeking to immortalize formal events or occasions. It could also be a wonderful gift to house photographs from a wedding or graduation ceremony, as the brass corners of the album bestow upon it a classy and sophisticated appearance. Set against a white mesh background, the photos are slotted into transparent pockets to fit 4’’ by 6’’ photos.  The Oxford brass corner album is well worth the investment for those seeking an album which reflects the prestige of their photographs.

At Hampton Photo Arts there is, however, always the opportunity to be bigger, bolder and more ostentatious. A good example of this is our range of Pioneer photo albums, which deftly combine elegance and style with a practical layout. The PC4-204 Pioneer model holds up to two hundred and four photos of the standard 4’’ by 6’’ sizes, which are housed in crystal-clear pockets. The sharp, white background allows the photography itself to monopolize the attention of the viewer. Of course, these aren’t the only features of the album. A tight spiral binding allows one to browse fluidly through the pages without the risk of creases or inadvertent bending of the spine, contributing to the Pioneer’s excellent durability. Moreover, the Pioneer album can be fitted with designer covers for a truly unique and dazzling finish. The prestigious name of this product is of course no coincidence – the Pioneer album leads the way in terms of quality and Hampton Photo Arts are proud to offer it to consumers.

There are so many durable, aesthetically pleasing and stylish photo albums on offer at Hampton Photo Arts that deciding on a purchase can be a confusing and daunting decision. The aforementioned albums are only a selection of the truly eclectic range of products available at Hampton Photo Arts, and a thorough perusal of the entire product range is strongly recommended. Ultimately, the decision to purchase a certain brand is that of the consumer alone.  These particular models have no doubt provided an insight into the depth and range of albums available at our store. Therefore those seeking an album which can complement their photographs and truly enhance their significance need look no further than the product range at Hampton Photo Arts.

Nowadays just about anyone can take a good quality photographs with a digital camera. Or take a few hundred pictures and the chances are few will be good, and even one or two outstanding.

Here are a few tips, tricks and techniques on how to make art print poster ready photographs and print ready digital files. Don’t get overwhelmed, there is a lot of information here, but a lot of it is just intuitive. Well, a bit of patience will always help.

First thing – Photo Size

If you taking a digital photo of you family or friend the largest size you would print is usually 5 by 7 inches, maybe 8 by 10 at the most. Even small size digital photographs (2MB or less) are ‘good enough’ to create a decent print. But if you want to create prints that are 16 by 20, 20 by 24 inches or larger you need more pixels (in pixels 20 by 24 inches photo is actually about 40 times larger than 3 by 4 inches photo assuming they have the same resolution).

Learning to Paint Watercolors

Watercolor is an easy, fun medium for creating art.  Color theory, composition and design can be explored freely with watercolor paint, paper, and brushes.  Several techniques may be used with watercolors for varying effects including painting wet on wet, wet on dry, layering washes, and more.

Watercolor paper comes in cold press, hot press, and rough.  Rough paper has the most texture, and its hills and valleys can result in interesting effects when paint is added.  Hot press is the smoothest and has the finest texture.  Cold press has a moderate amount of texture and is the paper most commonly chosen by watercolor artists.

Watercolor paper comes in several weights ranging from 90 lb. to 300 lb. based on the pounds per ream of paper.  Most artists prefer to use at least 140 lb. paper.  Papers vary somewhat between manufacturers, so sampling different papers is advisable.  Paper can be purchased in pads, in blocks or in large sheets.  The large sheets are usually the most economical and can be torn into whatever size is desired.
