Scanning

If you’re looking to take old photos, slides & artwork out of the shoebox and into a modern format, Hampton Photo Arts offers scanning services for that purpose. Bring in printed photographs, color and black & white negatives, APS films, slides & artwork and we’ll provide the high-resolution scan. We will also correct any fading or color damage in the original prints & artwork and apply dust and scratch removal to color negatives and slides. You’ll receive the completed scans on a CD or DVD you can view on your home computer. Upload them to your favorite social networking site or email them to family and friends.

Hampton Photo ArtsPhoto Frame Cards

Hampton Photo Arts presents our Strathmore photo frame cards. They are the perfect way to add a personal touch to greeting cards. Simply insert a 3.5" x 5" or a 4" x 6" photo or piece of art at the folded edge of the photo greeting card and personalize the frame. Send them out as birthday, holiday or anytime cards!

Scrapbooking Supplies

If scrapbooking supplies are what you’re looking for, we have everything you need here at Hampton Photo Arts. We offer a variety of scrapbooks in various designs such as embroidered, safari print, fabric ribbon, leather and more. Our colored scrapbook paper is superior to construction paper because it’s heavier, acid free and photo-safe. Complete your scrapbooking kit with our scrapbooking tape (both removable and permanent), mounting tape and photo memory cleaning cloths. When you’re finished, store everything in one of our photo & craft storage boxes. 

Children’s Art

Hampton Photo Arts has lots for the artist-in-training! Our Sargent art collection offers dustless chalk perfect for playing school, non-toxic crayons, art glitter glue for crafts and washable glue. We have jumbo brushes for painting, non-hardening model clays, washable markers and watercolor pencils that can be used either wet or dry. We also carry childrens art kits, kids sticker books and so much more.

Archival Framing

Archival framing is designed to preserve antique maps & documents, vintage concert posters, heirloom photos and unique artwork that cannot be easily replaced. Here at Hampton Photo Arts, we also offer custom framed mirrors. Bring in a frame or select one of our custom frames and we’ll have it ready in 7 days. Custom mirrors are available with or without a bevel.

Digital Recovery & Rescue

If you’ve accidentally deleted video or photographs or your files have become corrupt, Hampton Photo Arts can recover lost items from most all camera manufacturers. Simply bring in the memory card & fill out the digital recovery form and we’ll get started.

Learning to Paint Watercolors

Watercolor is an easy, fun medium for creating art.  Color theory, composition and design can be explored freely with watercolor paint, paper, and brushes.  Several techniques may be used with watercolors for varying effects including painting wet on wet, wet on dry, layering washes, and more.

Watercolor paper comes in cold press, hot press, and rough.  Rough paper has the most texture, and its hills and valleys can result in interesting effects when paint is added.  Hot press is the smoothest and has the finest texture.  Cold press has a moderate amount of texture and is the paper most commonly chosen by watercolor artists.

Watercolor paper comes in several weights ranging from 90 lb. to 300 lb. based on the pounds per ream of paper.  Most artists prefer to use at least 140 lb. paper.  Papers vary somewhat between manufacturers, so sampling different papers is advisable.  Paper can be purchased in pads, in blocks or in large sheets.  The large sheets are usually the most economical and can be torn into whatever size is desired.
