SLIK Sprint Pro
This aluminum magnesium alloy tripod is designed to be both strong and yet weighs less than 39 oz. making it a great tripod for travel. It is compact when closed (18.5”) and yet extends to over 5 feet, the perfect height for eye level viewing once a camera is mounted. And, by removing the center column, the tripod can be placed only 7 inches from the ground for really low level shots. Legs are 4-section with the largest leg diameter being 20 mm for added stability. Each section features secure flip leg locks. And each leg can be angled independently of the others to help level out difficult terrain.  Each leg also has a soft grip to make it easier to handle and carry. The 3-way head features a bubble level and a quick release to facilitate fast mounting and removal of the camera to the tripod. Complete with nylon carry/storage pouch.

SLIK Sprint Pro 3-Way Head

Like the SPRINT PRO, the SLIK SPRINT PRO 3-Way has the features that are required of a full sized tripod, a maximum height of 64 inches reaches eye level yet the SPRINT PRO folds to an impressively compact 18.9 inches and weighs in at just 38 ounces for easy travel.

Instead of using a small ball head, SLIK designed a new 3-way pan head that is fitted perfect for the SPRINT PRO and is included with this model. This head can easily handle a camera up to 4.4 pounds* in weight.
The emphasis on the SPRINT PRO 3-Way is ease of use. This tripod makes setting up simple and secure with fast, easy to use SLIK speed release leg locks, gearless center column for quick height adjustments, and 3 position adjustable angle legs for easy set up on uneven ground or steps.

The adjustable legs angles can also be used to lower the tripod. When used with the built-in short center column, (the included center column unscrews into two pieces) the camera is just 6.8 inches off the ground for extremely low angle or macro photography out in the field. Another way to get the camera low is to reverse the center column.

SLIK AF2100 Trigger Release Ball Head

The world's original, and most popular trigger-style ball head, so revolutionary it had to be patented. The SLIK AF 2100 trigger design ball head can take ease of photographing on a tripod to a new level. The key is in the trigger handle. It has an over sized trigger release that you squeeze to release and freely move the head. When you have moved your camera to the desired position, just release the trigger and the ball head locks firmly into place, at any angle. This smooth and natural movement makes the ball head feel like more on an extension of our hand than any other ball head available.

The AF 2100 handle is large enough for photographers with large hands to have a solid grip, but sized so that photographers with smaller hands will be able to use it with comfort and ease. If fact, many people have chosen the AF 2100 over other trigger designs for just that reason.

Capable of handling more than 10 pounds of equipment, the AF 2100 can, for example, support a 300 mm f/2.8 lens with a heavy professional camera body.

Art of Photography

Art of PhotographyPhotography is an amazing art form. A photograph album is a catalogue of life's history as seen through the camera. People, animals, nature, holidays, celebrations and even disasters are captured instantly and recorded as part of history. It is through the powerful presentations of photography that we better understand the progression of time and life. Hampton Photo Arts has over twenty years of experience working with photographers as they seek to capture and preserve the history of families and communities.

When families get together, both children and adults love to look through photograph albums. They enjoy seeing the childhood photos of older family members and compare themselves to ancestors who lived a hundred or more years ago. Photos are among the most important treasures of every family. They should not be faded and dull. They contain the smiles, tears and emotions of generations. The staff members at Hampton Photo Arts display excellence in the art of photography reproduction. They work with the highest quality materials. They know how to create family memories that will be just as beautiful one hundred years from now as they are today.

Learning to Paint Watercolors

Watercolor is an easy, fun medium for creating art.  Color theory, composition and design can be explored freely with watercolor paint, paper, and brushes.  Several techniques may be used with watercolors for varying effects including painting wet on wet, wet on dry, layering washes, and more.

Watercolor paper comes in cold press, hot press, and rough.  Rough paper has the most texture, and its hills and valleys can result in interesting effects when paint is added.  Hot press is the smoothest and has the finest texture.  Cold press has a moderate amount of texture and is the paper most commonly chosen by watercolor artists.

Watercolor paper comes in several weights ranging from 90 lb. to 300 lb. based on the pounds per ream of paper.  Most artists prefer to use at least 140 lb. paper.  Papers vary somewhat between manufacturers, so sampling different papers is advisable.  Paper can be purchased in pads, in blocks or in large sheets.  The large sheets are usually the most economical and can be torn into whatever size is desired.
